Transferring Military Credit

Do you have military credit you wish to apply to a degree program at OUS? The following page describes the types of credit each of the OUS campuses currently awards:

Eastern Oregon University

Students may receive college credit for military classes. An official military transcript or a DD-214 and supporting documents must be submitted to the Office of Admissions. With the exception of the Community College of the Air Force, these credits will be considered unofficial until 35 Eastern credits have been earned.  Credits are awarded based on the American Council on Education (ACE) recommendation, Dantes standardized test scores, and faculty recommendation.  Military transcripts are evaluated by the Registrar.

Oregon Institute of Technology

OIT will grant credit for military courses and experiences based on American Council of Education (ACE) guidelines found in the Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experience in the Armed Forces, Dante and faculty recommendations. Credit is awarded in accordance with transfer credit policies at OIT and the Oregon University System. Students may request evaluation of military credit by furnishing an official AARTS or SMART transcript.  Military transcripts are evaluated by the Registrar’s Office. Visit https://www.oit.edu/registrar/veterans-benefits for more OIT veteran student information.

This is in accordance with transfer credit policies at Oregon State University and the Oregon University System. Students may request evaluation of military credit by furnishing the Office of Admissions with an AARTS or SMART transcript. Transcripts may be obtained through their homepage at: ARMY (AARTS), or NAVY (SMART). Transcripts from the US Coast Guard Institute are also available for order. Additional informational links to other service pages can be found on the ACE website. Choose "programs and services" from the top menu and then "military programs".
