Unified Education Enterprise
Note: content in this section is outdated.
The Joint Boards section of the Board of Higher Education website is maintained as a resource, however, the Joint Boards are no longer an active public body. The multi-sector work of the Joint Boards has now been taken up by the Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC) and the Oregon Education Investment Board (OEIB). To find out more about the HECC and the OEIB, go here.
The Unified Education Enterprise (UEE) is a task force of the Joint Boards of Education that develops, implements, and monitors initiatives for PK- 20 education system alignment and integration. See the UEE work plan below for current projects and initiatives.
- UEE Work Plan (September 2010)
UEE work has included the collaborative initiatives contained in Senate Bill 342, which was signed into law by Governor Kulongoski on July 22, 2005. The bill directed Oregon's community colleges and OUS institutions to work together in coordinating more effective articulation and transfer statewide to insure that students complete their academic programs without unnecessary course duplication. It also directed institutions to enhance student opportunities to complete post-secondary coursework before high school graduation. For more information on SB 342 and the UEE philosophy behind an aligned education enterprise, see Background.
Materials and location for UEE meetings are posted under Meetings, and UEE public meeting notices are posted with the Board of Higher Education Public Meeting Notices. For more information, also see the Oregon Department of Education website for the Unified Education Enterprise.
