TO: MEMBERS OF THE STATE BOARD OF HIGHER EDUCATION

A regular meeting of the State Board of Higher Education will be held on Friday, December 17, 1999. Prior to the regular meeting, the Budget and Finance and System Strategic Planning Committees will convene. The Board's Investment Committee is scheduled to meet on Thursday, December 16. All meetings will take place in accordance with the times, locations, and schedules listed below:

The purpose of the meeting is to review the first quarter investment report, determine the schedule of meetings for 2000, and discuss statutory language for the investment of current Donation and Plant Funds.

Friday, December 17, 1999
8-9:30 a.m. Budget and Finance Committee
Rooms 327/8/9, Smith Memorial Center
Portland State University

The purpose of the meeting is to consider the Summer Session 2000 fee book and a hazardous waste facility at OSU for subsequent action by the Board. The Committee will receive reports on an Eastern Oregon University building renaming, fall 1999 OUS enrollments, a preliminary review of federal campus priorities, and proposed campus concepts for 2001 legislative action.

The purpose of the meeting is to consider 1999-2001 Board strategic initiatives for subsequent action by the Board. The Committee will also review institutional mission statements and preambles, a draft conflict of interest policy, and two academic programs that will be presented to the Board on its consent agenda. Reports include OUS fall 1999 enrollment, a preliminary review of federal campus priorities, and proposed campus concepts for 2001 legislative action.
