**The total student pool number for purposes of financial aid is the unduplicated headcount of admitted students --full-time, part-time, undergraduates, and graduates -- enrolled for credit during the regular 1995-96 academic year (fall, winter, and spring terms).
***Beginning with the 1995-96 academic year, most OSSHE institutions participated in the new federal direct loan program. In 1995-96, direct loans accounted for 85% of total federal loan activity.
