Bonnie Olson, Ed.M., University Center Director/ Regional Director

Bonnie Olson earned her Ed. M. (Adult Education) from Oregon State University in 2009, a BS in Liberal Studies (Psychology and Communication) from Eastern Oregon University in 2002, and an AA degree from Central Oregon Community College in 1992. She has worked for Eastern Oregon University for nine years as a Distance Education Adviser and Director of the Southwestern Oregon Regional Center at Southwestern Oregon Community College.  Prior to working for Eastern, Bonnie worked for Central Oregon Community College for 15 years and the last six of those years as Apprenticeship Coordinator.  She especially loves travelling from Florence to Brookings to visit her advisees on the coast.  Bonnie has four children and six grandchildren.

Mary Fields, M.S., EOU Assistant Professor, CUESTE Coordinator

Mary Fields joined the University Center staff in 2000 as the coordinator of the local Eastern Oregon University teacher education program.  She holds BS and MS degrees in Biology and is in the midst of a doctoral program in education. Currently, she mentors students who aspire to become elementary school teachers and coordinates the CUESTE program at the University Center on the campus of Southwestern Oregon Community College.  Previously, Mary taught students interested in becoming middle school and high school teachers.  A former science teacher, Mary finds the South Coast to be a playground for fishing, crabbing, hiking, and enjoying the environment.  Mary and her husband, Bob Fields, Ph.D., a Professor of Biology at SWOCC, are raising three kids and a dog in Coos County.

Jaimee Belzer, University Center Administrative Program Assistant

Jaimee Belzer has been a part of the SWOCC community for the past five years, receiving an Associate Arts Oregon Transfer degree  in 2011. She is currently finishing her Bachelors of Arts through Eastern Oregon University, majoring in English with a Film & Literature concentration, paired with Writing & Rhetoric as well as Physical Education & Sport minors. In addition to her busy life as wife, mother, and student, she has enjoyed coaching girls basketball for the last four years through the Boys & Girls Club. Working in higher education has always been a goal for Jaimee, making the University Center a fitting place for her to begin her career. 

Meggan McLarrin, B.S., OSU Open Campus Education Coordinator

Meggan McLarrin has been a part of the SWOCC community for the past eight years, and began working at the Family Center as a substitute teacher.  She earned an Associate Arts Oregon Transfer degree and an Associate Applied Science degree in early childhood education from SWOCC, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Eastern Oregon University. Currently, Meggan is completing an online master's degree in mental health counseling from Walden University.  She enjoys working for the University Center because she can share her experiences and knowledge about being a distance education student, and help students reach their educational goals while living on the South Coast. In addition to her work and academic pursuits, Meggan is a loving wife and mother of two adorable children.
