Higher Ed Board to Meet at PSU Thursday and Friday

WHEN:             The Oregon State Board of Higher Education will hold its first regular meeting of the 2003-2004 academic year on Thursday and Friday, September 18 and 19 at Portland State University at Smith Memorial Student Union in Rooms 327-9

WHAT:            Topping the agenda for the Thursday, September 18 meeting are discussion of:

                       Board Work Session: 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

  • OUS 2003-05 Budget; Funding implications and expectations

  • Comparison of Objectives for Flexibility Initiatives and Senate Bill 437

                       Topping the agenda for Friday, September 19 meetings are discussion of: 

Budget and Finance Committee: 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

System Strategic Planning Committee: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

  • Take action on approval of new academic programs at OUS institutions

  • System Strategic Planning Committee calendar

Board Meeting: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. 

  • Ratify actions taken in Committee meetings

  • Report on International Science Fair

Executive Session of the Board: 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

The Board will meet in executive session pursuant to ORS 192.660(1)(d) for the purpose of discussing matters pertaining to labor negotiations. The public is excluded from participation in this meeting.
