Budgets Highlight State Board's July Agenda
PORTLAND - Budget decisions for the coming school year and beyond headline the agenda for Friday's July 21 meeting of the Oregon State Board of Higher Education in Portland.
The board is expected to approve a 2000-2001 operating budget for the Oregon University System, set a new tuition and fee schedule for Oregon's public universities and adopt its 2001-2003 biennial operating and 2001-2007 capital construction requests.
Friday's meeting schedule includes two separate committee sessions and a full board meeting. All will be held on the campus of Portland State University and are open to the public.
The Budget and Finance Committee will begin discussion of the budget items from 8 to 9:45 a.m. in Rooms 327-329 of PSU's Smith Memorial Center. The System's Strategic Planning Committee also will meet from 8 to 9:45 a.m. in Room 238, Smith Center, to review program proposals for new degrees and to discuss campus reports on diversity, 1999-2000 program reviews and status of the Western Undergraduate Exchange Program.
The full board meeting begins at 10 a.m. in Rooms 327-329 at Smith Center.
