Higher Ed Board Meets Thursday, Friday in Monmouth
PORTLAND - The Oregon State Board of Higher Education will hold its regular meeting Thursday and Friday, April
15-16 on the campus of Western Oregon University, Monmouth.
The Executive Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Calapooia Room of the Werner University Center to
review financial issues at Oregon State University. On Friday, the full board will begin its meeting at 8:30 a.m.
in the Columbia Room of the Werner University Center. The meetings are open to the public.
On the agenda for Friday's meeting is a scheduled executive session dealing with labor negotiations and domestic
partner benefits; and public discussion items dealing with changes to bylaws, an exchange of forest lands at OSU,
and reports on overall academic performance, the economic impact of the Oregon University System, campus diversity
and future enrollment planning.
The board also will consider proposals to approve a new bachelor's degree in environment science and certificates
in second language acquisition and teaching and global management at the University of Oregon, and two new master's
degrees in conflict resolution and writing at Portland State University.
