Branch Planning Headlines Friday's State Board Agenda
EUGENE - Discussion of implementation plans for the new Central Oregon branch campus and possible tuition increases next fall highlight agenda items for Friday's (April 20, 2001) meeting of the State Board of Higher Education at Western Oregon University in Monmouth.
Officials of the Oregon University System and Oregon State University will review plans to open the state's first university branch next fall on the campus of Central Oregon Community College in Bend. Among matters yet to be resolved is a name for the branch and a title for its executive operating officer. The Boards' System Strategic Planning Committee is expected to consider both items during its Friday committee meeting, scheduled from 8 to 9:45 a.m. in the Willamette Room of WOU's Werner Center.
Meanwhile, members of the Board's Budget and Finance Committee will discuss tuition planning during a concurrent 8 to 9:45 a.m. meeting in the Columbia Room of the Werner Center. The committee agenda also includes talks on how engineering and enhancement funds requested for the 2001-2003 biennium will be allocated.
The full board meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the Columbia Room of the Werner Center. Other items on the agenda for the full board meeting include approval of a B.A./B.S. degree in information systems at Western Oregon University; proposed adoption of model administrative rules on confidentiality during labor negotiations; and revisions of administrative rules on grievance procedures.
Prior to Friday's meeting, members of the State Board will participate in an open forum for WOU students, faculty and staff at 3:45 p.m. Thursday in Room 217 of the University's Education Building.
All of the meetings are open to the public.
