Higher Ed Chancellor to Address Portland City Club

PORTLAND - The chancellor of the Oregon University System will address the Portland City Club on Friday, March 5.

Dr. Joe Cox will describe "An Oregon University System for the Next Century" in remarks at a 12:15 p.m. luncheon in the Mayfair Room of the Benson Hotel, 309 SW Broadway, Portland. His comments will focus on how Oregon's seven public universities are being transformed by a new student-centered budget, performance-based initiatives, and entrepreneurial efforts with other educational institutions, government and business.

The luncheon program is open to both City Club members and non-members. For information and reservations, members can call 503-241-9242; non-members, 503-228-7231.

The chancellor's address will be telecast live on CityNet 30. Oregon Public Broadcasting (KOPB, Portland; KOAB, Bend; and KOAC Corvallis), KPBS, and KKJZ/KUPL, Portland, will carry tape-delayed radio broadcasts.
